CCS acceptance: What does the science say?
Public acceptance is regarded as a key factor in the successful implementation of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS). Technical feasibility, the regulatory framework and economic viability are essential prerequisites – yet without trust, transparency and public engagement, projects cannot realise their full potential.
We therefore turn our attention to the scientific perspective: what factors influence public attitudes towards CCS? What role do perception, local impact and the political framework play? And what concrete insights can be drawn from acceptance research for practical application?
