Bye Bye, CO2: Maritime infrastructure for CCU/S
The ramp-up of Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCU/S) requires not only efficient storage facilities, but also a well-developed maritime infrastructure for the trade and safe and efficient transport of CO2. Ports play a strategically central role in this. They serve as logistical hubs for CO2 exports to European storage regions – and are increasingly developing into CO2 hubs where capture, interim storage and shipping converge.
